Happy New Year to one and all! It had been a really busy season for us … and we apologize for not being able to share as much as our time permits, juggling editing, meeting and filming work and the occasional blogging as well. We are blessed to be able to share in the joy of the wedding celebrations of Ian & Wendy 3,000 km away from here on  3-January-2010. As much as Ian looks ethnically Chinese, he was really born and raised in India. Wendy on the other hand is a true blue Singaporean and they themselves met each other thousands of miles away from their own hometown in Australia. We were given the task to retell their story using a combination of cartoon integrated with photos. Here’s a sneak into some of the production still pics, will be sharing the video with you in a while.

A new addition to the Lighthouse family & pre wedding in Bali

•Tuesday, December 22, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Hello everyone!!^^

I’m Kingston, a photographer with Lighthouse Studio under Kianteck, our main photographer. I’ve been working with the studio for almost a year and a half doing wedding photography and I’ll be bringing you more photos to the blog in addition to the videos Mingsong have already uploaded. So you’ll be hearing more from me in time to come.:)

Anyways, a little more about me. I’ve been doing photography for close to 4 years, since my JC days, mainly in event and studio photography. In Lighthouse, I usually tag along as a second photographer and do most of the editing work on the photos. But enough about me, what I want to show you in this post is some of the pre wedding pictures Kianteck took in Bali for Tingzhou and Peiting.

Aren’t the photos pretty?? I think they are..^^ (partly because I edited this series, hehe). We have compiled the photos into a flush mount album (the kind where the pages are thick like cardboard) for this series of photos, so if you are interested in doing something similar, do drop by our studio to have a look at the album.:)

Well, that’s all I have for now, but do lookout for our next update..

Kingston^^

How much backlog have we got in sharing our recent videos of the works we do, one of my prospects recently asked … because she was not able to see quite recent updates to our blog. I was thankful for having “followers” on this not so updated blog of ours … but yet embarrased that we have many many outdated videos yet to share. So based on this feedback, I shall fast-forward to our most recent video to share first, while I will make time to dig out the other interesting projects we have done too.

Music sets the tempo and the mood in the way the video is being edited, and I think it goes through for most editors. The tune of this piece really touches me, with lyrics like “I wanna grow old with a gal like you …. I rather be with you”. I think I was even humming away for most of the time during the dinner banquet as the song really rings in my ears.

Friends of Zhiwei will also know “how good” a dancer he is, but you will be vastly surprised by his slick dance moves in his attempt to win over the sisters to fetch the bride. Don’t believe what I say, trust the pics above and view the video to see how true that it. That’s all the update for now, shall try to update more frequently on the many back-logged posts and upcoming projects.

Wedding Video of Jimmy & Yu Yen

•Tuesday, November 10, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Today is exactly the 1st month anniversary of our lovely couple, Jimmy & Yu Yen … what a way to help them celebrate by bringing on their memories of that special day again.

On their wedding day, we were re-united with our long lost sibling at Lighthouse Evangelism Church, where many guests were asking if we were affiliated. Thanks to Jimmy and Yu Yen for bringing us back to be “re-united”. Just to set the record straight, we are not affiliated in any way, just hope that one day Lighthouse Studio will be able to base ourselves in such a big building as our “sibling”.

I think these few photos below will give you a clue of the personality of the couple; quite fun-loving and spontaneous, so the smiles and the laughters came about so naturally that makes it a joy to capture those timeless expression.

Besides our video crew, we had a guest appearance by one of our photographer friend, Simon Lee who helped us along. Some shots that you can see in the video were done with his Canon DSLR in video mode. We had a few new toys in action for their wedding day as well. Any folks can give a guess what’s those?

To Jimmy and Yu Yen, it had been a great joy partaking in your wedding celebrations. Makes every sweat drip worth it … but I think Jimmy perspired more than me that day. :p

Wedding Video of William & Alicia

•Saturday, October 24, 2009 • 1 Comment

I guess we are grossly outdated when it comes to updating of our blog posts. William and Alicia’s wedding day was a few weeks back. We had been kept busy with weeks after weeks of assignments and backlogs and edit. Anyway, cut the story short, the story should be about our couple…. William and Alicia whom we filmed on 3-October-2009, Mid-Autumn Festival.  I was quite amazed by the amount of effort the groom and his groomsmen prepared the “props” for William pulled off all his might to impress … with an unexpected song as he walked in to fetch Alicia. 郑伊健 一生爱你一个 touched the bride to tears.

Congrats to William and Alicia, continue to touch each other in livelong journey ahead of you. It was a joy to have our team be a part of your beautiful wedding.

3D Wedding Montage for Chun Kiat & Sze Jia

•Saturday, October 3, 2009 • 3 Comments

Rule #1: use a sweet romantic love song

Rule #2: photos must be chronologically ordered

Rule #3: never do fast movements and transitions, otherwise you can’t identify the faces in the montage clearly

those are the common rules to follow for the process of doing a childhood montage, but we broke them all!  A quick tempo song, fast moves and transitions, and photo sequence that eschew the usual chronological convention. By pushing the envelop, our efforts culminated in a great unique show, worthy to be remembered for years to come.

One of our fav pieces for this season, created in a outrageously rebellious  style – thanks to the couple, Chun Kiat and Sze Jia, who made all of this possible.
