Solemnisation Express Video for Alvin & Rachel

•Thursday, August 5, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Producing beautiful Express Videos at wedding dinners are not as easy as people think! This is because good editing requires time and effort. The minimum time usually required to edit the wedding footages, filmed in the morning, is between 4 to 5 hours. Therefore, solemnisation ceremonies held just before the dinner banquets would typically not be included in Express videos as there is less than 1 to 2 hours to edit them.

Alvin came to us one day and asked us if we could help film his wedding video. He felt that it would be meaningful to share moments of his solemnization with his dinner banquet guests and asked if we could fulfil his wish. Being confident of pulling it off and crazy enough to take up the challenge, we readily agreed.

This special couple, Alvin & Rachel, have known each other since secondary school. Alvin had a crush on Rachel since then but was too shy to court her then. This friendship gradually developed into love later on. It was clear to us from the gatecrash to the outdoor shoots at Upper Pierce Reservoir and Pierce Secondary school that they strongly loved each other. We wish you, Alvin and Rachel, a blessed wedding. May your relationship grow deeper in understanding and intimacy.

Lighthouse goes Live View for Wedding Banquets – wedding of Eugene & Chia Chia

•Wednesday, July 21, 2010 • Leave a Comment

We were eagerly anticipating the wedding celebration of Eugene & Chia Chia. It has been a blessing for us to witness the wedding of Eugene and Chia Chia. The fun filled duo contacted us the very next day after watching one of our express videos during her friend’s wedding (Wee Lee & Pei Yi).

Eugene also planned out an exciting proposal which we edited to share their story. For the record, he proposed in front of a few thousand people. To know more about them and their “Whirlwind Romance” as well as their touching proposal, check out the proposal video segment below.

On their wedding day, Eugene’s band of brothers gamely laid on the tarmac road with their “Armani Suits” . Many residents were definitely impressed with Eugene’s proclamation of love to Chia Chia. During the dinner banquet, Eugene and Chia Chia’s guests were able to catch glimpses of them as they prepared to enter the banquet hall. This was made possible because of the wireless live feed for the dinner banquet. However, we have been sworn to secrecy and thus won’t show the intro video to their march in. All we can say is that, “Eugene, you look really chio!”

Love Story & The Proposal

Iain & Claudia – union of Knight & Princess

•Friday, June 11, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Its been a while since we last posted something on the blog. Been caught up with many things, one of them being the copyright music in wedding videography that we are all concerned about. Kudos to RIPS for showing leadership and decisiveness in striking a balance between the music companies they represent and common people like us. Visit http://www.rips.com.sg/wedding/ for detailed info.

No details was spared in the preparation of their wedding in bringing out the theme of the Knight and Princess and their fairytale wedding. No efforts were spared by both the groom and bride to make each other the most important person and the happiest for the day and beyond.

As the gang of brothers “prepared for glory” in gungho style, its the artwork and the innate singing talent within Iain that melted that heart of his beloved Princess. Hardly have I seen my buddy sing before, thus I have specially cut out a short segment of his entire singing. Check out also his self-made card, lovely delicate art work.

The rest of the actions were even more hilarious and fun, specially since we have a team of warriors in battle with the groom, ever ready to take on any types of challenges that comes their way. Check out the freshly brewed express highlights incorporating their same-day solemnization ceremony.

Happy New Year to one and all! It had been a really busy season for us … and we apologize for not being able to share as much as our time permits, juggling editing, meeting and filming work and the occasional blogging as well. We are blessed to be able to share in the joy of the wedding celebrations of Ian & Wendy 3,000 km away from here on  3-January-2010. As much as Ian looks ethnically Chinese, he was really born and raised in India. Wendy on the other hand is a true blue Singaporean and they themselves met each other thousands of miles away from their own hometown in Australia. We were given the task to retell their story using a combination of cartoon integrated with photos. Here’s a sneak into some of the production still pics, will be sharing the video with you in a while.

A new addition to the Lighthouse family & pre wedding in Bali

•Tuesday, December 22, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Hello everyone!!^^

I’m Kingston, a photographer with Lighthouse Studio under Kianteck, our main photographer. I’ve been working with the studio for almost a year and a half doing wedding photography and I’ll be bringing you more photos to the blog in addition to the videos Mingsong have already uploaded. So you’ll be hearing more from me in time to come.:)

Anyways, a little more about me. I’ve been doing photography for close to 4 years, since my JC days, mainly in event and studio photography. In Lighthouse, I usually tag along as a second photographer and do most of the editing work on the photos. But enough about me, what I want to show you in this post is some of the pre wedding pictures Kianteck took in Bali for Tingzhou and Peiting.

Aren’t the photos pretty?? I think they are..^^ (partly because I edited this series, hehe). We have compiled the photos into a flush mount album (the kind where the pages are thick like cardboard) for this series of photos, so if you are interested in doing something similar, do drop by our studio to have a look at the album.:)

Well, that’s all I have for now, but do lookout for our next update..

Kingston^^

Wedding Video of Zhiwei & Qinhui

How much backlog have we got in sharing our recent videos of the works we do, one of my prospects recently asked … because she was not able to see quite recent updates to our blog. I was thankful for having “followers” on this not so updated blog of ours … but yet embarrased that we have many many outdated videos yet to share. So based on this feedback, I shall fast-forward to our most recent video to share first, while I will make time to dig out the other interesting projects we have done too.

Music sets the tempo and the mood in the way the video is being edited, and I think it goes through for most editors. The tune of this piece really touches me, with lyrics like “I wanna grow old with a gal like you …. I rather be with you”. I think I was even humming away for most of the time during the dinner banquet as the song really rings in my ears.

Friends of Zhiwei will also know “how good” a dancer he is, but you will be vastly surprised by his slick dance moves in his attempt to win over the sisters to fetch the bride. Don’t believe what I say, trust the pics above and view the video to see how true that it. That’s all the update for now, shall try to update more frequently on the many back-logged posts and upcoming projects.

Wedding Video of Jimmy & Yu Yen

•Tuesday, November 10, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Today is exactly the 1st month anniversary of our lovely couple, Jimmy & Yu Yen … what a way to help them celebrate by bringing on their memories of that special day again.

On their wedding day, we were re-united with our long lost sibling at Lighthouse Evangelism Church, where many guests were asking if we were affiliated. Thanks to Jimmy and Yu Yen for bringing us back to be “re-united”. Just to set the record straight, we are not affiliated in any way, just hope that one day Lighthouse Studio will be able to base ourselves in such a big building as our “sibling”.

I think these few photos below will give you a clue of the personality of the couple; quite fun-loving and spontaneous, so the smiles and the laughters came about so naturally that makes it a joy to capture those timeless expression.

Besides our video crew, we had a guest appearance by one of our photographer friend, Simon Lee who helped us along. Some shots that you can see in the video were done with his Canon DSLR in video mode. We had a few new toys in action for their wedding day as well. Any folks can give a guess what’s those?

To Jimmy and Yu Yen, it had been a great joy partaking in your wedding celebrations. Makes every sweat drip worth it … but I think Jimmy perspired more than me that day. :p
